These cottages are made for those with wheelchairs and those who need special access, and so you and your loved ones will not have any worries when staying in one of these brilliant lodges.

These cottages are designed to help those with wheelchairs and assistance is available in the way that they are all on one level – bungalows – making moving around from room to room very easy, with no steps leading to kitchens or bathrooms. There are also ramped exists and entrances to the lodges to make coming and going all the more easy. There are also lowered kitchen units and worktops for if you wish to rustle up some home cooked food and take it to your own private garden to eat underneath the sun!

How can this be useful to me?

If you are blind or partially sighted, then there are numerous cottages which can be rented where assistance and guide dogs are fully welcome. This is perfect for if you do not wish to leave your companion behind or if you need them around the house while on holiday to help you out.

Some cottages come equipped with lovely outdoor pools, and if you are in a wheelchair, getting in and out may prove to be difficult. Thankfully, pool hoists are available to make access into and out of the pools extremely easy, and with this kind of assistance available already in your rented cottage, you will not need help from anyone else.

Also within these accommodations there are panic buttons for peace of mind, grab bars in bathrooms and throughout the cottages, electric chairs and beds and wider doorways and corner points for those with wheelchairs. With this kind of assistance already available within your lodging, you will not have to worry at all about disabled access in any part of your cottage, making your break a complete worry-free zone, leaving you with more time to enjoy your holiday and soak up your beautiful surroundings.

Another point to consider when thinking of renting a cottage if you or one of your family or friends is disabled and needs assistance, is getting from your car to the accommodation itself. There are plenty of cottages to rent where parking is available right next to the lodgings. This means that you do not need to take a long walk to the cottage, and with wheelchair friendly paths leading up the door, with soft ground making access a lot smoother, your cottage break is bound to be one of your most most stress-free and relaxing breaks yet.

Time to smile

A man is in a pub at a holiday resort and keeps falling off his bar stool every few minutes. He appears to be somewhat drunk. So the barman, a good soul, says to a colleague: "I think it's time we got him back to his holiday chalet."

The barman goes round the bar and says to the drunken man "we're taking you home mate", finds out which chalet he's staying in with a great deal of support to prevent him falling over, gets him to his chalet front door. He's about to ask the drunk man to find his keys when the door opens to reveal his wife standing there.

The wife says,"thank you for bringing John home, but what have you done with his wheelchair?"
